Yellow Jackets Are Buzzing Everywhere

Residential pest control services employ safe pesticides so that it won’t harm your family members and the immediate surroundings.

You can smell them, you can see the damages they cause, but you can never figure out why they are coming around your house to begin with. Skunks are attracted to gardens, so if you have one on or around your property, you've found your answer. Not only do your gardens provide a tasty meal for skunks, it offers shelter, which is why they tend to stick around rather than eat and run.

Skunks are omnivores like us, so they eat all types of vegetables. But they will also dig up lawns and gardens for insects and grubs. Fortunately, there are some simple and effective methods for getting rid of skunks in your garden. Continue reading to learn them, and what to do if your skunk problem is larger than you can handle.

Bright Lights

The first method you should try is installing bright, outdoor lights that shine directly on the garden. Skunks will not feel safe in a brightly-lit area, and avoid lights at all costs to protect themselves from danger. Also, as nocturnal mammals, they have sensitive eyes, so bright lights hinder their ability to navigate well in the dark, and even bothers their eyes. If you don't want to leave lights on all hours of the night, simply opt for motion-activated lighting that will only turn on if they detect activity.

Professional Help

It is important to hire a licensed wildlife removal company for safe and humane skunk control service if your skunk problem is too big to manage on your own. This is especially true if you have skunks nesting in indoor areas of your home, like a crawl space or under a porch. They retain the professional training and resources to remove skunks safely, and relocate them to a safer and faraway habitat.

Bees and Wasps: Danger Can Be Lurking Underground

The absolute most important reason for having pest control at your property is health.

Want to know more about the ABC's of what this area under discussion has to propose to every human being who is willing to do things for themselves? During an inspection of the structure needing bat eviction I can determine the size of the colony and the best time of the year to remove the bats. During certain times of the year bats form nursery colonies. Depending on your geographical area the bats can only be removed when the young bats are able to fly. We like to use a one-way door or referred to as a valve.

These unidirectional escapes lets the bats escape not allowing the bats back in. This type of bat control eviction is approved by the organization Bat Conservation International. The utmost critical thing in bat removal from a residence is attention to all the little construction gaps. When closing all construction gaps, anything larger than an a quarter inch should be sealed. You have to seal the entire home to foil bats from getting back in. You will go as far as sealing any fault or construction crack. Ill need to exclude vents to keep bats out, let's start by closing off louver vents, attic vents, and ridge vents if bats can breach them using 1/4 inch screen. These can be painted to match, but I have found it blends in nicely left unpainted.

Inspect chimneys, bricks and mortar may be loose forming gaps. Look for gaps around where the chimney goes through soffit, carefully seal gaps and install a one-way door, if a bat way in is there. Ridge venting systems are feasible bat entrances. When looking at the ridge vent closely you'll usually find the plastic ridge vents deform leaving gaps, I've seen where varmints have chewed a gap in the vent. I will do away with the previous roof vent system and replace it. Primarily, you lay down 1/4 inch hardware cloth this keeps the bats, mice and squirrels from getting through. We will install a one-way bat door here also if the bats were using this area. Finally you'll finish the attic vent with a vent system referred to as Cobra vent, and then finish it with top cap shingles. We try to color match any calking, tin work and exclusion work to make it merge in as if we have not had to fix the construction defects. We use paintable caulking, the silicon based calks will tinge over time.

I build my own one-way doors. After ten years of bat control, I came up with an easy effective one-way valve for bat removal. You can purchase commercially produced bat cones but I personally think they are too short and have no airflow at the base where it is attached to the structure. These one-way doors are left on for about two weeks, to let bats leave. Then I can remove the one-way door and then block the entrance. After the bats have exited through the one-way doors the bats will try for several nights to get back in, by looking for another entrance, this is why sealing every possible entrance needs to be done. This is how to evict bats.Find out more by reading our other articles on this topic and other subjects we have written related to it.

Permethrin - A Non-Toxic Tick Repellent That Works

The absolute most important reason for having pest control at your property is health.

At this time of year, as summer turns into autumn and the weather turns chilly and damp, people all over the country find that their homes are invaded by spiders of all sizes. Considering how widespread arachnophobia (fear of spiders) is, it is understandable that a solution to this problem would be greatly welcomed.

And luckily, we have been able to find a solution. In fact, there are several! Here are some sure-fire ways to rid your house of the horrible, eight-legged creatures this autumn:

Hoover - A well-known and well-practiced way to remove spiders is to suck them up with the Hoover and consign them to the interior of a dusty, dirty bag. The problems with this are that, firstly, as many people have often wondered, will the spider just walk out again once the Hoover is turned off? And secondly, isn't this a very cruel method of getting rid of the spiders? Most of us may not like spiders and certainly don't want them in our homes, but we also don't really want to harm them - we just want them to leave, and as quickly as possible!

As a matter of fact, there is such a method... Ultrasonic spider repellers are available that can send out sound waves at precisely the frequency that will disturb spiders the most, but which humans can't hear. For those anxious among you, this does not harm the spiders in any way. However, it is unpleasant enough for them to avoid your home and leave you in peace. All you have to do is plug the repeller into an electrical socket and let it work its magic.

All of these methods are tried and tested and proven to work. Why not give one of them a try and keep your home spider-free this autumn?
